Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant & Mt. Pleasant
We Will See You All In the New Year January 8, 2023
Prayer: Rev. Pelton
Scripture: Luke 2:8-11 - 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Subject: How to Choose & Receive the Perfect Gift
What gifts represent:
- A gift can represent our status.
- A gift can represent the value of the person receiving the gift.
- A gift can be given as a symbol of good will.
- Romans 8:32 - Indeed, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all - how will he not also, along with him, freely give us all things?
- God gave his best, his Son.
- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son. That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
- Romans 3:23-24 - For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But hey are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
- Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
