Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant & Mt. Pleasant
Prayer: Rev. Pelton
Scripture: Isaiah 60:1-4 - Arise! Shine! For your light arrives! The splendor of the Lord shines on you! For, look, darkness covers the earth and deep darkness covers the nations, but the Lord shines on you; his splendor appears over you. Nations come to your light, kings to your bright light. Look all around you! They all gather and come to you - your sons come from far away and your daughters are escorted by guardians.
Subject: Arise And Shine
- Rise and shine can mean a change.
- Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know what I have planned for you, 'says the Lord. 'I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope.
- No matter how or what our situation is, God can make everything alright, by His will and if we believe.
- Why arise? 1. It is a word from God. Psalm 19:7 - The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 2. This precept of arising is of God. If God said it, He is able to perform it. 3. The Lord is our light. Jesus said that as long as He is in the world, there is light. 4. Only the living can rise and shine. Only the living can praise God.
- How are we to rise & shine? 1. Be connected to Christ. 2. Consume the Word of God. Jeremiah 15:16 - Thy word were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts. 3. We must submit to the Word of God. James 2:14 Faith without works is dead.
