Thoughtful Question: Why did Jesus say "Do not cling to me."  John 20:17 - "Don't cling to Me," Jesus told her [Mary Magdalene], "for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to My brothers and tell them that I am ascending to My Father and your Father - to My God and your God."

The Thought for the Day: Don't worry about tomorrow, God is already there!
Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declared the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Sermon
Matthew 21:6-11
(6) The disciples went and did just as Jesus directed them. (7) They brought the donkey and the colt; then they laid their robes on them, and He sat on them. (8) A very large crowd spread their robes on the road; others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them on the road. (9) Then the crowds who went ahead of Him and those who followed kept shouting:
Hosanna to the Son of David:
He who comes in the name of
the Lord is the blessed One!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!
(10) When He entered Jerusalem, the whole city was shaken, saying, "Who is this?"
(11) And the crowds kept saying, "This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee!"

Topic: Triumphant  Entry
Snippet of Sermon
  • Jesus came to Jerusalem on an ass while the people lay palm leaves over the path. (Zachariah 9:9 - Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; He is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.)
  • Jesus was openly declaring that He was the Messiah.
  • Those who shouted "Hosanna" one day, were shouting "Kill Him" the next.
  • Jesus gave Himself as a living sacrifice with love, humbleness, and peace.
  • Jesus conquered sin.
  • Jesus rose with all power
