Scripture: Hebrews 12:1-2 - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, we must get rid of every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
Subject: Looking Unto Jesus
- Jesus will never leave us or forsake us.
- We as Christians are in a marathon race which requires endurance and patience.
- Lots of things can get in the way of serving God such as family, job, etc.
- Do we only look to Jesus when trouble comes? Or do we look to him in all things?
- Whatsoever we ask in my name, that will I do. John 14:13
- Always go to God through Jesus for all things that we need.
- Our God will supply all of our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
- Romans 12:1 - Present ourselves as living sacrifices.
- God strengthens our faith through trials.
