 Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Philippians 4:6-7 - Be careful for nothing; bur in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Subject: Too Much Information

WWW = World Wide Web

We now find and share information quickly and sometimes without understanding it.

Information overload has infiltrated our lives and overtaken our mines. We are sometimes consumed by the intake of information from the Internet, TV, radio. We have access to every bodies trouble at the same time.

John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

We don't need to carry these burdens all by ourselves.  Too much information vexes our spirits.

We do not need to stay connected to the world 24/7; 365 days!

We have too many programs running all at once which tends to freeze up and then things crash.

We become emotionally, mentally and spiritually worn out.

Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.   (This is the antidote to too much information)

If we place prayer first at the beginning of our day before checking the news or whatever everyone else is talking about, and we allow God's Word to seep into our hearts, we remember that God is still in control.

God's peace becomes a guard around our hearts and minds.

Not everything that comes from the news or whatever is unnecessary, but we must be discerning.

Do not allow this world to break our relationship with God. Prayer brings strength when life seem hard.

Matthew 11:28 - Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
