Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Happy New Year!

Psalm 34 - I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall be continually in my mouth....

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: John 15:4-5 - Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.  Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

Subject: What Happens When We Leave Out of Our Lives

  • How are we to survive without Jesus?!
  • Jesus is the true vine.
  • Jesus is our provider, our power source, our protecter.
  • Jesus is the center of our joy.
  • Branches are the ones who confess that Jesus is their savior.
  • Our love connection is God through Jesus Christ, His son.
  • What happens when we leave Jesus out of our lives?
  • We are excluding prayer from our lives, loving others, etc.
  • This never ends well.
  • Self-reliance is not good. It leads to more stress, exhaustion, wrong directions in life.
  • Leaving Jesus out of our decisions, lives, etc. We start to compromise, our pride starts to take over.
  • We must lead not on our own understanding.  Proverbs 3:5-6
  • We think that we are in control of our lives but this is totally wrong.
  • The danger of the last days - 2 Timothy 3:1-9
  • Without Jesus in our lives, we have nothing of spiritual value.
  • We have started to normalize evil things.
  • We must stay strong in the Word, be discerning, staying on the narrow path.
  • Leaving Jesus out of our lives leads to lawlessness, evildoing, spitefulness, hatefulness.
  • God sent his Son to be the foundation.
  • On Christ the solid rock I stand: 1 Peter 2:6; 1 Corinthians 3:11; Matthew 7:24-25 (These verses highlight the assurance and strength found in faith in Jesus as the solid rock.)
