Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh
Prayer: Pastor Baggett
Scripture: Luke 2:15-20 - When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, "Let's go to Bethlehem! Let's see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherds' story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all thy had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.
Subject: Christmas Has Passed, Now What?!
- How do we shift from all the fineries of Christmas?
- Matthew 1:23 - Look! The virgin will conceive a child. Shell will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means 'God is with us."
- And the Word became flesh
- The manger directs us to look forward to Jesus' growth as a youth, to manhood, to the cross, to Jesus ascending to heaven.
- Christmas should transform us to the true meaning.
- Be transformed with the renewing of our minds.
- Be ye doers of the Words and not just hearers. James 1:22
- Faith without works is dead. James 2:14-26
- We must work while it's day, for the night comes, when no man can work. John 9:4
- Give all glory to God!
