Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: John 14:1-3 - Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Subject: God's Cure for a Troubled Heart

  • Heart disease and stroke are the two main enemies in our lives as it pertains to our health.
  • A healthier diet is needed.
  • In John 13, Jesus is spending time in the upper room with his disciples preparing them for his pending death. This is known as the Lord's Supper.
  • And in John 14 his is telling them that he is going away.
  • The cure for a troubled heart: (1) Don't be troubled about anything; (1a) Remember that we are in the time of Grace & that God is still in control; (2) We are to place all our trust in Jesus. John 10:11 - Jesus says that he is the good sheperd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.
  • Also remember Psalm 23.
  • We must have faith. For without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6
  • We must put the past behind us. Also don't worry about the future.
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trupm of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
