Welcome From Brown Chapel/Avant, Shiloh & Mt. Pleasant

Prayer: Rev. Pelton

Scripture: Luke 5:1-5 - Now Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, and the crowd was pressing around him to hear the word of God.  He saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.  He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little way form the shore. Then Jesus sat down and taught the crowds from the boat.  When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch."  Simon answered, "Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your word I will lower the nets."

Subject: Who Are You Listening To?

  • Do we trust God day by day? Or do will trust Him when it suits us?
  • We should always surrender our will to His!
  • Matthew 16:15-18 - He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." And Jesus answered him, "You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven!
  • Obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22
  • Our lives will never be the same if we turn ourselves over to God.
  • Jesus restores us, even as he did with Peter.
  • God's grace covers our mishaps.
  • It is written, 'We serve a living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them.' 1 Thessalonians 1:9 & Acts 14:15
