Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Shiloh and Mt. Pleasant

Prayer: Rev. Pelton

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 - And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance od the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.  For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake:  for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Subject: The Grace Overcomer

  • God's grace brings us into the family of God.
  • We as Christians cannot give up.
  • Be still and know that He is God. Psalm 46:10
  • Don't get ahead of God.
  • Do you follow the influence of our surroundings or is you house a followers of God? Joshua 24:15
  • What does this "thorn" represent? God uses the thorn to further His work here on earth.
  • Be reminded that God's grace is sufficient....even when our lives are thorny.
  • God's grace allows use to persevere through the Holy Spirit.
  • God's grace awakens our hearts and minds that we will triumph.
  • Keep your eyes trained on Jesus and not on the world.
