Happy Holidays from Brown Chapel/Avant, Shiloh and Mt. Pleasant!
Prayer: Rev. I. Pelton
Scripture: Acts 20:35 - By all these things, I have shown you that by working in this way we must help the weak, and remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
Subject: Blessing of Giving
- Do we really know the reason for the season of Christmas?
- God gave us an awesome gift.....Jesus!
- Three things for us to consider......(1) We look for someone to relate to, someone who understands where we come from. So we have an advocate; (2) Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (3) We find out something about the person you are giving to. God considered what to give to us long before the Garden of Eden.
- Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son us given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Luke 2:12 - And this shall be a sign unto us; You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger."
