Happy Mother's Day - May 9, 2010

Greetings and Happy Mother's Day from Brown Chapel!

Our Sunday School lesson today was from 1 Corinthians Chapter 3

Brief:

I gave you milk when you were young (Christians) but now you should be on solid food but, it seems you are not yet ready.  You are still worldly.  You follow everything that comes along when you should be following the Lord. You may plant a seed, someone else may water it but only God can make it grow.  So neither the planter nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.

No one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any may build on this foundation using gold, sliver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light.

Don't you know that we ourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in us? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred and we are that temple.

The Spoken Word came from Psalm Chapter 23  Verses 1-3

Text: The Mighty Shepherd

My shepherd (God) ....becoming one of the flock is a person which means you are not to follow your own heart but the wisdom of God who is the Shepherd.

We need a Blessed Assurance (God)...... If we are in the Lord, we don't have to want for anything. He assure us  this by His Word.

Need of rest .....God says that allows us to lie down in green pastures (which is soft rather than prickly)

He restores our souls.....He is able to purge us of all our woes.  God is able to forgive us and restore us.
