Scripture: Matthew 18:21-22 - Then came Peter to him, and said, "Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?" Jesus said unto him, "I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but , Until seventy times seven.
Subject: Responding to Conflict
- Conflict is a part of life.
- Conflict is a struggle or some sort of opposition
- We have conflict with (1)ourselves, (2)others, (3)environment & (4)supernatural
- Some have unhealthy reaction with conflict by ignoring or blaming others.
- These are negative responses. Do we have a past hurt? Or are we a perfectionist? Or is there pride involved. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18
- We should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. James 1:19
- A quiet spirit is what God is pleased with.
- We should go to God in prayer when dealing with conflict.
- Order our step in your word and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Psalm 119:133
- We should demonstrate what God would have us to do by emulating Jesus.
- We must implement the precept of God by forgiving.
- The Word of God has given us what we need to deal with conflict.
