Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Shiloh & Mt. Pleasant
to this new year 2021!
Prayer: Rev. Pelton
Scripture: Proverbs 26:4 - Do not answer fool according to his folly, lest you yourself also be like him.
Subject: Maintaining a Quiet Spirit
- Discord often stems from pride, jealousy, envy, etc.
- But we as Christians are accountable to God in the way we handle things.
- Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18
- Discord destroys relationships.
- James 1:19 - Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
- More can be accomplished by being calm in a stressful situation.
- Maintaining a quiet spirit - seek you first the kingdom - Matthew 6:33; ask for a discerning spirit from God in prayer; Seek a divine perspective ....all things work for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28); and finally, we must implement what God requires.
- We must have a forgiving spirit.
