Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 16-18 - Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Subject: Developing the Habit of Gratitude

Everything is going well but that one little thing isn't & we focus on that one small thing.

Why do always focus on the things that are missing in our lives and not on what we already have.

We must stop and count our blessings.

God is still good all the time and all the time God is good.

God is good to us.

Developing the habit of gratitude: (1) rejoice always even in times of trials because our joy cannot be only when things are easy. We must become mature in Christ's words and teachings. Don't let the negativity of this world cloud your love of God; (2) pray without ceasing because pray can change our perspective of a situation. We must stay connected to God and have a right relationship with him. We must remember to pray and not faint. Just praying 'thank you Lord' is a blessing to God; (3) we are not always in perfect circumstances in our lives but we are not facing anything alone. God is present and we should thank him for God faithfulness, his love for us, his strength that we should reach for all the time.

Stay focused on the positives no matter how small or large in your life and stay focused on Jesus.
