Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Philippians 2:3-8 - 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Subject: True Greatness Looks Like a Servant

Social media is too much a part of our lives.

We need to keep our eyes on Jesus.

Live is not all about us.

God's servant means we are not to focus on ourselves but think about others. Others have worth just as we do. We must learn to celebrate others as we want them to knowledge us.

When everyone comes together to contribute to the good of all, God is in the mix. We must be about our Father's (God) business.

The world measure greatness by flattery, false praise, showing favor, etc.  Jesus measures greatness by services rendered.

Jesus served other by showing humility to anyone.

True greatness does not need constant recognition.

Do not allow our ego & pride to get in the way of God's plan for us.

James 4:10 - Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

Your gift will make room for you. Proverbs 18:16

We must remain focused and steadfast in Jesus.

Jesus is our example, for he never compromised his purpose.

Mark 8:36 - For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
