Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Exodus 14:10-14 - And when Pharaoh came near, the children of Israel, lifting up their eyes, saw the Egyptians coming after them, and were full of fear; and their cry went up to God.  And they said to Moses, Whas there no resting-place for the dead in Egypt, that you have taken us away to come to our death in the waste land? why have you taken us out of Egypt? Did we not say to you in Egypt, Let us be as we are, working for the Egyptians? for it is better to be the servants of the Egyptians that to come to our death in the waste land.  But Moses said, Keep where you are and have no fear; now you will see today you will never see again.  The Lord will make war for you, you have only to keep quiet.

Subject: Learning to be Still

  • We must be still and know that God is God. Psalm 46:10
  • In these times we wonder is there a way out?
  • We need to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.
  • We should be conforming to God's plan for us.
  • Romans 12:3 - Don't think too highly of yourself, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of us.
  • God's ways are not our ways.  Isaish 55:8-9
  • Isaiah 46:10 - God knows the end from the beginning.
  • They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
  • Matthew 11:29 - Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
  • Romans 8:31 - If God be for us, who can stand against us.
  • On the other side of midnight, there is peace that passes all understanding; there is joy; there is eternity!
  • So let us fix our eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:2
Invitation to Christian Discipleship - Romans 10:9
