Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant & Mt. Pleasant

Prayer: Rev. Pelton

Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Subject: Knowing Who You Are In Christ

  • What is our identify in Christ?
  • We know that everything that God made was good.
  • Build a strong foundation, have faith in God, etc.
  • In Genesis chapter 3, Satan appeared and tricked Adam & Eve.
  • Satan even tempted Jesus in the wilderness by saying, "If you be the Son of God...."
  • Satan uses doubt.
  • We need to know who we are in Christ Jesus.
  • We must remember that Jesus said that he would never leave us or forsake us.
  • Through all our trials, God is always with us.
  • We know that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. John 14:6
  • Matthew 16:15-17 -[15] He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? [16] And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. [17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
  • We need to remember that through Jesus, our sins are forgiven.
  • We must be born again; we must pray without ceasing.
  • Whenever we veer off-track, Satan steps in to confuse and destroy us.
  • When we rediscover who we are in Christ, our lives become, again, on even ground and in favor with God.
