Brown Chapel/Avant, Shiloh & Mt. Pleasant

welcomes you all to

Sunday worship!

Prayer: Rev. I. Pelton

Scripture: 2 Chronicles 20:1-3 & 15(b) - It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.  Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Jazazontamar, which is Engedi.  And Jehoshphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. (b) Thus said the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

Topic: The Power of Prayer

  • Those who pray to the Lord in earnest will prevail.
  • Being alarmed is a human condition but if we "set ourselves to seek God first" .....
  • If we are resolved, then we are on a course of action toward God.
  • Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.  Philippians 4:6
  • When trials and tribulation come, be resolved towards God.
  • We must come together united in God.
  • If my people which are call by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14
  • We must lean and depend on Jesus.
  • We must remember how God has gotten us thru other situations.
  • We must focus on God's plan.  Not my will but Thy will be done. Luke 22:42(b)
  • We must have confidence in God.
  • Don't rely on ones self but rely on God.
  • A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.  James 1:8
