Sunday School
Who We Are In Christ, continued

Previously from November 2012
Psalm 138:8 - The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever-do not abandon the works of Your hands.

1 Thessalonians 1:4-6 - For we know, brothers loved by God, that He has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy spirit and with deep conviction.  You know how we lived among you for your sake.  You became imitators of us and of the  Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcome the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.
Note: We are to live by the Word becoming obedient.
Welcome the Word; become convicted.

Romans 8:14-15 - Because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.  For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.  And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."
Note: Power, love and a sound mind is what God gives us.
Fear is the law and bondage.
We are in the GRACE period. Thank God!

Colossians 3:3-4 - For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Note: Our spirit man is new but our flesh is old.

Sermon
Philippians 3:14 - I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Subject:  It's Time To Go!

Go = to move along; to travel; to proceed; to take a particular direction.
Go appears in the Bible 1492 times.

God wants us to go     1. out and feed His sheep; 2. spread the Word; 3. comfort others; 4. give of your time

GO are the first two letters in God's name
GO are the first two letters in the word gospel

We should GO with an attitude of a winner because the victory is already won. But we are to always press toward the mark.

We are first changed then sanctified.

Hebrews 12:1 - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and  let us run with perseverance the race marked our for us.

  • Go into the vineyards......
  • Go into the highways and by-ways.......
  • Go and sin no more!
  • Go and wash.......
  • Go and teach all nations......
  • I go to prepare and place for you.........
