Sunday School
2 Corinthians 12:1-21
"My Grace Is Sufficient"

  • Grace is free and unmerited favor of God toward sinful humanity.
  • Mercy infuses us from top to bottom.
  • When you are weak in human strength, you are strong in the Lord.
  • We must live differently from unbelievers.
  • Renew your mine to the body of Christ.
  • The joy of the Lord is strength.
  • Third Heaven references - Genesis 1:6-8; Genesis 1:14-16; Psalms 148:16; Ephesians 3:17-19 (2 things Paul is saying (a) dimension and structure of all things, which can be defined and (b) the love of Christ, which is beyond full comprehension by man.
  • First Heaven - Genesis 1:20
  • Second Heaven - Genesis 1:14
  • Third Heaven - Revelation 4:6

Sermon: Brief
Proverbs 1:1-7
"The Wisdom & Knowledge of Man"

Verse 7: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction or discipline.

  • We have access to loads of knowledge but very little access to wisdom; moreover, Godly wisdom.
  • Proverbs means to rule or govern.  So we need to govern our behavior or conduct in the ways of the Lord.
  • Proverbs 9:10 - Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.  Knowledge of the Holy One results in understanding.
  • Proverbs 15:33 - Fear of the Lord teaches a person to be wise; humility precedes honor.
  • Ecclesiastes 12:33 - Here is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey Hid commands, for this is the duty of every person.
  • What place do we hold in this world? Christians live by God's word. The fear of God is the foundation to prosperity.
  • Wisdom gives us order in a world of confusion.
  • God gives us all we need to live by.
