Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh
Fifth Sunday - No Service
Please join us December 7, 2025 for church service.
Prayer: Pastor Baggett
Scripture: Romans 12:16-18 - Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Subject: I Will Take the High Road
- Words matter.
- Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21
- Words have the power to build up, bring happiness but they also have the power to destroy.
- Take the high road means being mature, focus on solutions, getting results, keeping dignity, having self-control, not being petty, to name a few.
- We cannot ignore conflict but use discernment and calm manner.
- Benefits of taking the high road: reduces stress, strengthens relationships, speaking up with patience & love when rebuking others.
- Effective high-road actions: give yourself time to respond, focus on the facts before responding to others. Use constructive conversation, practice empathy.
- What the devil meant for bad, God intended it all for good. Genesis 50:20
