October 5, 2025

Welcome to Brown Chaple/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Welcome back Pastor & Mrs. Baggett for another year!

Attention: October 12, 2025 is our annual Homecoming so we will not be on that day but will see you all back here the following Sunday.

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Psalm 1:1-61 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,

2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.
4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Subject: Choosing the Right Path

  • Jeremiah 6:16 - The Lord said to his people: "You are standing at the crossroads. So consider your path. Ask where the old, reliable paths are. Ask where the path is that leads to blessing and follow it.  If you do, you will find rest for your souls."
  • We should take time to reflect on our life's decisions.
  • We should choose the right path. The path that God laid out us.
  • There is the Godly path and the ungodly path.
  • We must choose one or the other.
  • We want to be nearer to God.
  • Make a good decision.
  • Be discerning.
  • Don't get caught up in unsound doctrine.
  • Don't become comfortable is wicked things: gossip, hatred, deceit, etc.
  • We should delight in the Lord. This means to find joy in the Word; be cheerful.
  • Make God's Word a priority.
  • Be ye transformed by the renewing of our minds. Romans 12:2
  •  Be active in the Word of God.
  • Be strong, deeply rooted in the Word. The Word is spiritual nourishment to our souls and bodies.
  • Be steadfast abounding in God's Word.
  • Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58
  • Hold onto His hand, God's unchanging hand.
