Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh
Prayer: Pastor Baggett
Scripture: Titus 2:11-13 - For the grace of God has come, giving salvation to all men, training us so that, turning away from evil and the desires of this world, we may be living wisely and uprightly in the knowledge of God in this present life; Looking for the glad hope, that revelation of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
Subject: Your Character Matters
- Character is a trait that forms a person's nature. It's the sum of one's actions.
- Good character is God's character.
- Character affects all aspects of our lives.
- We must embrace godly principles.
- God's plan is to have fellowship with mankind.
- Genesis 1:26-27 - And God said, Let us make man in our image, like us: and let him have rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every living thing which goes flat on the earth. And God made man in his image, in the image of God he made him: male and female he made them.
- So, what is God's image? JESUS
- Colossians 1:15 - Who is the image of the unseen God coming into existence before all living things.
- Hebrews 1:3 - The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being sustaining all things by his powerful word.
- Ephesians 4:22-24: To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- God's purpose is to mold us into the likeness of Jesus, His Son.
- God is not concerned with our competence but our character.
- Will God always heal, grant success, etc. NO! Because God is more concerned with our character.
- Character is the outward expression of our choices.
- Be of good character.
- What a mighty God we serve!
