 Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant,

Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: John 6:25-3525 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”

26 Jesus answered, Very truly I tell youyou are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill27 Do not work for food that spoilsbut for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give youFor on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

29 Jesus answered, The work of God is thisto believe in the one he has sent.”

30 So they asked him, “What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’

32 Jesus said to them, Very truly I tell youit is not Moses who has given you the bread from heavenbut it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”

35 Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungryand whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Subject: Count Your Blessings

  • The Miraculous Signs from Jesus the Christ: water into wine, healing powers, feeding the 5 thousand, Jesus walking on water, raising Lazarus from the dead.
  • Where was Jesus at this time in Chapter 6? He was up on the mountain praying.
  • The sea was a dangerous place to be. As the disciples where in the boat & looked to see Jesus walking towards them.
  • The multitude are on the other side and away from the disciples & Jesus.
  • We live in a land of plenty and are blessed because of God sharing His Son, Jesus, with us.
  •  We must have faith in him whom God has sent. John 6:29
  • God, not Moses who provided the needs of His children in the wilderness.
  • Jesus is God in the flesh.
  • Jesus is the bread of life. John 6:35, 48, 51
  • Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
  • Count your many blessings, count them one by one. Psalm 103
  • We must and should thank God for the many blessings He has given to us.
  • Don't forget to remember how good God is to us.
  • Recognize the blessings we take for granted.
  • Be thankful that you don't already have what you want....you'd have nothing to look forward to.
  • Be thankful for the difficult times....for we grow in these types of times when we reach for God.
  • On the coming Thanksgiving, be thankful for the many blessings God has bestowed on us.
