Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Isaiah 40:27-2327 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speaks, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God? 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faint not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Subject: Have You Heard the News?

  • The people of Israel is crying out to God, thinking that He does not hear them.
  • God has always kept His covenant.
  • God is everlasting (eternal, with no ending); God is the Lord (God is Lord over all the earth); & God is the Creator (God is the one who made everything out of nothing).
  • God gives us His amazing grace.
  • From v29 God gives His power to strengthen us.
  • We must take all our situations to God in prayer.
  • We must wait upon the God to guide us. We must be patient to allow His will to work in us.
  • Waiting on the Lord increases our faith.
  • We know that God's grace is sufficient.
  • Three ways that God's grace str
  • Grace allows us to rise above things.
  • Colossians 3:2 - Keep your mind on the higher things, not on the things of the earth.
  • Gives us the strength to run the race well. By running God's race we are actively serving God.
  • 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 - So then I am running, not uncertainly; so I am fighting, not as one who gives blows in the air: But I give blows to my body, and keep it under control, for fear that, after having given the good news to others, I myself might ot have God's approval.
  • We have the grace of endurance.
  • And remember that Jesus Christ is Lord.
  • We have good news. The gospel of Jesus Christ.
