Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant and Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Matthew 11:28-30 - Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Subject: What About You, Are You Tired and Weary?

  • Are you beaten down with the cares of life?
  • There is a cure. The cure is Jesus.
  • We all labor in our lives and need a respite from family, traffic, the job, chores, etc.
  • Then there are those burdens we carry around such as money troubles, serious illnesses, mental illness, etc.
  • We must state the problem; then work it out.
  • Jesus is the way to work things out. He promises to come to him and he will give rest.
  • Be not deceived for God is not mocked.  Galatians 6:7
  • And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  John 8:32
  • Jesus has God's nature in his word.  All of his promises are yea and amen.
  • The world may change but God does not.
  • No other name can save you except JESUS!
  •  The yoke is the key to our rest. In other words, we need to be hooked up with Jesus.....as two oxen work together in a field.
  • The yoke is important because it is a point of labor (it is a labor of love).
  • Choose you this day whom you will serve...... But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.  Joshua 24:15
  • The yoke is a place of learning. We are invited to learn of Jesus Christ.
