July 26, 2020

Good Morning to all from Brown Chapel/Avant,
Shiloh and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Churches
Prayer: Annie C.
Scripture: 1 Peter 2:21 - For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us an example, that ye should follow his steps.
Subject: Following the example of Christ

  • Look unto the hill from which our help comes. Psalm 121:1-2
  • We need a living example which is Jesus.
  • We, too, are living examples.
  • 5 "UN's" of God
  1. Unselfish is Jesus. Jesus died for us. God sent his only son to pay a debt that "we" could never pay.  We, too, need to be unselfish.
  2. Understanding is Jesus.  Psalm 103:13-14 - As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on his faithful followers. For he knows what we are made of; he realizes we are made of clay.  We, too, should be understanding.
  3. Unfailing is Jesus. Jesus said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Hebrews 13:5-6
  4. Undaunted is Jesus. Meaning not intimidated by anything, that is our Jesus.  Even in a storm,  he was not intimidated. Our joy will come in the morning so be undaunted. We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37
  5. Undefeated is Jesus. God gives us the victory through Jesus Christ.
  • 1 Cor 15:51-57 - Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, which give us the victory though our Lord Jesus Christ.
