Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1 - For everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven; Matthew 4:19 - And he said unto them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Subject: Stepping into a New Season

  • In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Genesis 1:1-4
  • Genesis 1:14 - And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.
  • Why do we go through the seasons of life?
  • Philippians 1:6 - For I am certain of this very thing, that he by whom the good work was started in you will make it complete till the day of Jesus Christ.
  • Change is going to happen whether we like it or not.
  • We serve a God of change, a God of seasons.
  • There will be new challenges when stepping into a new season. Faith may be challenged has Peter's was when he stepped from the boat to go to Jesus.
  • Feeling depressed, nothing is going our way, we begin to drift away from the Word.
  • There is a purpose for every season.
  • Christ's love is greater than all our failures.
  • God's grace and mercy brings us through.
  • Stepping into a new season creates champions.
  • Think of the Upper Room when the Holy Spirit came in,
  • Read Acts 2 (Peter's redemption & sermon)
  • Psalm 24:7-10 - Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. (Selah)

Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant & Mt. Pleasant

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1 - To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

Subject: God's Timing

  • God's timing comes in different avenues.
  • We should study to show ourselves approved.
  • We should pray always to have a right relationship with God.
  • God has a timetable for everything.
  • Everything that happens, happens when God allows it.
  • Galatians 4:4 - But when the fulness of the time came, Go sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law.
  • God doesn't always give us the details.
  • Ecclesiastes 3:11 - He has made everything beautiful in its time.
  • Acts 1:7 - And he said unto them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father has set within his own authority.
  • Humans are impatient but God is not.
  • 2 Peter 3:8 - But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
  • God answers our prayers in His time. We must be patient.
  • Our waiting is getting us ready to God's plan for us.
  • Fear not, fret not, forget not, and faint not.
  • Our faith defeats our fear.
  • Mark 5:36 - Be not afraid, only believe.
  • Fret not - means don't worry about a thing. Evil doers will soon be cut off and die away.
  • Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
  • 1 Peter 5:6 - Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
  • Never for God's gift to us. His Son, Jesus.
  • And let us not be weary in welldoing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10

Sunday School
Jude - Part 2 - verses 12-25

  • These are spots in your love feasts (supper), while they (evildoers) feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn tress without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the root;
  • raging waves of the sea, foaming up their (evildoers) own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever (everlasting separation from God).
  • Now Enoch ( Enoch walked with God and was taken up to heaven), the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,
  • to execute judgment on all to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."
  • These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.
  • But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:
  • how they told you that there would by mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts.
  • These (ungodly) are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit (Holy Spirit).
  • But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most hold faith (a good foundation), praying in the Holy Spirit,
  • keep (obedient) yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
  • And on some have compassion, making a distinction;
  • but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.
  • Not to Him (God) who is able to keep you form stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
  • To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.
Sermon
Ecclesiastes 8:12 - Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before Him.
Subject: Every Little Thing Is Going To Be Alright"
  • For humans, wisdom is limited by the flesh
  • The wicked will not prosper
  • Injustice is on us but it will not last
  •  Job is an example of Satan's injustices reined upon him but Job held fast to his belief in God.
  • Asaph almost gave up the faith in Psalm 73
  • Serving the Lord comes with many benefits:
    • He is soul saving
    • There is salvation
    • Eternal life
    • We have the presence of the Lord
    • We have a special relationship with the Lord
  • The devil tries to trick us thusly:
    • By the trials in life
    • Fear of everything
    • There is no salvation for us
    • The church is losing members and the pastor can't preach
    • There is no real future for us
  • But God:
    • God has not given us a spirit of fear - 2 Timothy 1:7
    • Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out. Acts 3:19
    • Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18
    • I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
    • But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57
    • For I know who holds tomorrow.
