Scripture: John 19:25-27 - Now standing beside Jesus' cross were his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. So when Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, he said to his disciple, "Look, here is your mother!" From that very time the disciple took her into his own home. After this Jesus, realizing that by this time everything was completed, said (in order to fulfill the scripture), "I am thirsty!"
Subject: At The Foot Of The Cross
- What is happening at the foot of the cross?
- God broadens the family of God, that John was entrusted to see after Mary, the mother of Jesus.
- The loved ones of Jesus were at the feet of the cross.
- They were losing the physical presence of Jesus but Mary was gaining another son, John.
- At the foot of the cross we all become a part of the family of God.
- Let the redeemed of the Lord, say so. Psalm 107:2
- Love was expressed from Jesus to his mother and to John.
- Jesus has entrusted to us his love to love others. Because we are our brothers keepers.
