Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant & Mt. Pleasant

Prayer: Rev. Pelton

Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, al holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Subject: An Identify Crisis

  • Do you sometimes wonder who you really are?
  • Can you really know?
  • Paul said "I am all things to all people." 1 Corinthians 9:22
  • God said, "I Am that I Am." Exodus 3:14
  • Satan is here to confuse us.
  • Satan tried to confuse Jesus in the desert.
  • Jesus said, "It is written....."  Matthew 4:1-11
  • We must believe in the Written Word.
  • Do not forget who we are in Christ Jesus.
  • We must always be on guard and discerning.
  • We must have an intimate relationship with God through Jesus.
  • What do we need to know in Christ?
  • When we know who we are in Christ we have a firm foundation; we can love one another; we understand that we wrestle not with flesh and blood; & we must be born again.
  • We must press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
  • Ephesians 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them.
  • John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was fully God.
  • Jesus is our bright and morning star; Jesus is our rock; etc.
  • There is 'no' doubt who we are in Christ Jesus.
