Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh
Prayer: Pastor Baggett
Scripture: Matthew 18:21-22 - then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus said unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Subject: Don't Cancel What God Has Already Forgiven
Cancel culture can be a positive or negative thing. (withdrawing support)
Today we live in a culture where we are quick to disagree with other, where we become judge and jury in a negative response.
Some measure of accountability is expected; however, mercy should be applied as well. Forgiveness just be included in the process of accountability.
If you want forgiveness, you must be able to forgive.
Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
We are only still standing because God's grace and forgiveness.
Forgiveness does not cross out accountability. Forgiveness & accountability can exist at the same time.
We must repent and acknowledge our sins.
Cancel culture for the most part does not want progress, don't like history, don't want to hear the truth.
The worse day doesn't have to be our last day because there is a chance to forgiveness.
God's grace should color how we see and forgive others.
