Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Matthew 22:18-2218 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me?

19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius,
20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
21 “Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”
22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.

Subject: No King But Jesus

  • John 19:15 - But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate said unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
  • We, as Christians have Jesus the Christ as our King.
  • Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
  • Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me." John 14:6
  • Do not be trapped by false teachings or people speaking of their own power over us.
  • Remember that God is a jealous God and He will have no other gods before Him. Exodus 34:14
  • We must be transformed by the renewing of our mines. Romans 12:2
  • Jesus came to serve and give his life as ransom.
  • Remember Jesus paid it all, all to Him we owe. He took our sin and washed it white as snow.
  • Jesus is our refuge.
