Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh
Prayer: We lift in prayer the families in the flood zones & the folks who are tasked with rescue & recovery. Their lives are forever changed but strengthen them and ease their burden. In the name of Jesus the Christ. Amen
Scripture: John 14:26 - But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all that I said to you.
Subject: All the help we need
- In this day & time we need God's help.
- God wants to help us.
- God sent Jesus to save us, to be our light.
- When Jesus ascended into heaven, He told us that He would send us a helper.
- The Holy Spirit came down as our helper, counselor, our guild.
- The Greek word of Holy Spirit is "Paraclete," which means someone called to come alongside another to help or assist in any way needed.
- We have a choice. Do we allow the Holy Spirit to work in us OR not?!
- The Holy Spirit keeps our hearts in the Word of God.
- The Holy Spirit helps us grow.
- The Holy Spirit restores us daily.
- The Holy Spirit transforms our lives. - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.
- The Holy Spirit helps us to love continually, in all things.
- The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin. John 16:7-11 - Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away because if I don't go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world about sin, righteousness and judgment: About sin, because they do not believe in me, about righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me; and about judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
- The Holy Spirit empowers us to proclaim Jesus Christ. Acts 4:31 - When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God boldly.
- There are other ways that the Holy Spirit works in us.
- We must be and stay open to his help
