Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Shiloh & Mt. Pleasant

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: 1 Peter 4:12-14 - Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:  But rejoice, inasmuch as you are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy. If you be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are you; for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

Subject: Being Blessed in Persecution

  • Aiding and abiding.....are you aiding abiding wrongdoings.
  • Will you be held accountable?
  • We, as Christians should rejoice in our persecution because the spirit of glory and of God rest upon us.
  • The world will persecute us because we are holding up the blood stained banner for the Lord.
  • Satan will attack us.
  • Matthew 5:11 - Blessed are you when people insult you and say all kinds of evil things about you falsely on account of me.
  • Being persecuted proved our faith.  Have you been tried in the fire?
  • We learn the magnitude of God's strength.
  • We are purified our lives when we are persecuted. Keeping our minds stayed on Jesus when we are in a trial.
  • The battle is not ours, it's the Lord's. We are prepared for better service.
  • A live of ease is not always a sign of blessing.
  • We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but no destroyed.  2 Corinthians 4:8-9
  • The Lord delivers us out of all. Psalm 34:19
