The Holy Spirit - Part 6
We are sealed in the Holy Spirit
  • Ephesians 1:3-14 - Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.  For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to son-ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace. that he lavished on us.  With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment-to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.  In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.  And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of his glory.
  • 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 - Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
  • Ephesians 4:30 - And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Sermon
Genesis 1:2-5 - Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.  God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning-the first day.
Subject: I'm Calling Things The Way I See Them  (Sermon by Edward Hunt)
  • Are you snared and troubled in something but can't figure out what's behind it?
  • Do you call up a friend to talk about the problem and still can't figure it all out?
  • God understands us and tell us to walk by faith and not by sight.
  • Things are not going to change as long as we keep calling it like it is.
  • We live under a "word" activated system.
  • We can change our environment by what we say.
  • Matthew 12:34-37 - "You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings out the evil stored up in him.  But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty work they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."
  • Born again into Jesus we operate in God's ways and not in the world.
  • Romans 12:2 - Don not conform to the pattern of this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable and perfect will.
  • We must declare blessings over our lives and not dwell in worry.
  • James 1:26 - I anyone considers himself religious an yet does not bridle his tongue, he deceives his heart and his religion is worthless.
