Jude - Review
Verses 5-6 - Now I want to remind you, through you know all these things: The Lord first saved a people out of Egypt and later destroyed those who did not believe; and He has kept, with eternal chains in darkness for the judgment of the great day, the angels who did not keep their own position but deserted their proper dwelling.

Food for thought - Even the privileged, or converted or ones thinking they are more than others can escape the vengeance of God. They have turned away in unbelief or disobedience. Even the angels who were not pleased with their place with God, who were prideful, they were cast out and are kept to the judgment of they great day.  An everlasting separation from God.
2 Peter 2:4 - For it God did not spare angels when they sinned but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment;.....
Romans 1:20 - For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--His eternal pow and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Sermon
1 Samuel 17:8-11 - Goliath stood and called to Israel's troops, "Why do you come out to prepare for battle? Am I not the Philistine, and are you not the servants of Saul? Choose for yourselves a man so he ay come down to me!  If he is able to fight with me and strike me down, we will become your servants. But if I prevail against him and strike him down, you will become our servants and will serve us."  Then the Philistine said, "I defy Israel's troops this day! Give me a man so we can fight each other!"  When Saul and all the Israelities heard these words of the Philistine, they were upset and very afraid.

Ephesians 6:10-12 - Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Review & Insight
1:4 Ungodly people worming their way into the churches & are perverting the grace of God.
1:9 Michael did not argue with Satan but kept his rebuke to what God said. We are to submit to God completely to guard against the ungodly.
1:18-19 - The ungodly do not believe in anything godly. They don't accept the Word of God. We, however are not in the spirit of this world but are of the Spirit who is from God. We are discerning.
1:22-23 - We are to be merciful to those who doubt; use boldness with ungodly; use caution when showing mercy to the ungodly.

Sermon by P. E. Rev. Mittie Muse, Sr.
Romans 8:37-39 - No, in all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Subject:  Who Will God
  • Put God first
  • Have a relationship with God
  • When visiting a new church ... Would you return to a place where I don't feel welcome?
  • Sometimes you have to do things even if it's all on your own
  • The Holy Ghost gives you a spirit of boldness
Get started - don't just stand around waiting for something to happen. You make it happen
Stay strong
Don't lose your focus - praise God in spite of what is going on around you
It is impossible to be separated from God -  Romans 8:38
Tell it - God still loves us even in this day and age
Jesus loves us in spite of all the injustices of our lives
Sometimes God has to subtract in order to add
We need to be intentional believers for God
God brought us this far and will not leave us but take us all the way
Jesus' blood washed all our sins away
God gives us the power to endure
Remember, Jesus is coming back
Who is willing to get the job done for Jesus?
Stay in the WORD

Jude - Part 2 - verses 12-25

  • These are spots in your love feasts (supper), while they (evildoers) feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn tress without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the root;
  • raging waves of the sea, foaming up their (evildoers) own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever (everlasting separation from God).
  • Now Enoch ( Enoch walked with God and was taken up to heaven), the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,
  • to execute judgment on all to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."
  • These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.
  • But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:
  • how they told you that there would by mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts.
  • These (ungodly) are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit (Holy Spirit).
  • But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most hold faith (a good foundation), praying in the Holy Spirit,
  • keep (obedient) yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
  • And on some have compassion, making a distinction;
  • but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.
  • Not to Him (God) who is able to keep you form stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
  • To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.
Sermon
Ecclesiastes 8:12 - Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before Him.
Subject: Every Little Thing Is Going To Be Alright"
  • For humans, wisdom is limited by the flesh
  • The wicked will not prosper
  • Injustice is on us but it will not last
  •  Job is an example of Satan's injustices reined upon him but Job held fast to his belief in God.
  • Asaph almost gave up the faith in Psalm 73
  • Serving the Lord comes with many benefits:
    • He is soul saving
    • There is salvation
    • Eternal life
    • We have the presence of the Lord
    • We have a special relationship with the Lord
  • The devil tries to trick us thusly:
    • By the trials in life
    • Fear of everything
    • There is no salvation for us
    • The church is losing members and the pastor can't preach
    • There is no real future for us
  • But God:
    • God has not given us a spirit of fear - 2 Timothy 1:7
    • Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out. Acts 3:19
    • Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18
    • I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
    • But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57
    • For I know who holds tomorrow.

Jude 1-11 - Part 1
  • Now Jude, a bondservant (slave) of Jesus "Christ" (The Anointed One) and brother to James. This is Jude's greetings to whom he is writing to: Jews, Gentiles and Christians.
  • To those who are called sanctified (set apart) by God the Father and preserved (kept) in Jesus Christ: Mercy (compassion), peace ( inner assurance), and love (affection or benevolence) be multiplied to you (Jews, Gentiles and Christians).
  • Beloved, you must contend earnestly (wage war, fight for the truth) for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
  • Certain men have crept in unnoticed, ungodly men who turn the grace of God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Jude wants to remind you that the Lord saved the people out of the land of Egypt (today's world) and destroyed those who did not believe.
  • Those angels who didn't keep to their own domain, God has reserved in "everlasting chains" (controlled in darkness) under darkness for the judgment of the great day (everlasting separation from God).
  • As Sodom and Gomorrah and other cities around them having given over to sexual immoralities and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire (everlasting separation from God).
  • They speak evil and reject authority.
  • Michael the archangel, when confronted with the devil over the body of Moses, did not rail against the devil but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
  • The ungodly speak evil of whatever they don't know, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves.
  • Woe (great sorrow or distress) to them.
Sermon
John 3:1-3 - Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God.  For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.
Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
Subject: You Must Be Born Again
  • Do you have compassion
  • Salvation is a gift from God
  • We must be born again
  • Pharisees were very strong in the "law"
