Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Philippians 4:6-7 - Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests by made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Subject: How to End the Shutdown

  • We must rejoice in the Lord always. Philippians 4:4
  • We, as Christians, have many things coming at us in all types of forms; the shutdown, wages, cost of living, food insecurity, national problems, etc.
  • The Church must address these issues.
  • As a body of true believers, we must believe that our God is the only one with absolute power. Nothing happens by chance. So there is nothing too hard for our God.
  • Practical steps to overcome: Obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22): Be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:6-7): We must pray always in every situation (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
  • Be grateful even in trials and tribulations.
  • Pray doesn't immediately remove our problems but pray releases our anxieties and lightens the heart.
  • Cast all of our burdens on Lord, and he shall sustain your Psalm 55:22
  • Ephesians 3:20 - God can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that words in us.
