Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh
Prayer: Pastor Baggett
Scripture: John 10:11-14 - 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me
Subject: The Good Shepherd
- I am the bread of life
- I am the good shepherd.
- There is no one like the lowly Jesus.
- Psalm 34:8 - O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trust in him.
- Jesus was committed to doing his father's business.
- Jesus was willing to lay down his life
- Philippians 2:6-11 - 6Who, existing in the form of God,
did not consider equality with God
7but emptied Himself,
taking the form of a servant,
8And being found in appearance as a man,
He humbled Himself
and became obedient to death—
9Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place
and gave Him the name above all names,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
- Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. John 15:13
- I will never leave you nor forsake you. Hebrews 13:5
- We must allow God to transform us and guide us and mold us into His image.
- Must confess our sins and God will forgive us.
- What do we know about Jesus? We know that in relationships, we must spend time with them; we must learn to walk in the light of Jesus.
- Psalm 23 - The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anoints my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
