Welcome From Brown Chapel/Avant & Mt. Pleasant

Prayer: Rev. Pelton

Scripture: Psalms 100 - A Psalm of thanksgiving. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord his is God:  it is he that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.

Subject: Serving the Lord with Gladness

  • A charge to keep I have.
  • Deuteronomy 6:5 - And thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all the soul, and with all thy might.
  • How to serve the Lord:
  • We can serve the Lord with a heart full of gladness.  We are living sacrifices.
  • Act 4:32 - And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: Neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
  • We can serve the Lord with a joyful spirit.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:58 - Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.
  • 1 Corinthians 16:13 - Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like me, be strong.
  • We can serve the Lord with a heart of gratitude. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving.
  • But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.  Joshua 24:15
