 Welcome from Brown Chapel/Avant

Prayer: Rev. Pelton

Scripture: Matthew 6:34 - So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.

Subject: How To Deal With Stress

  • We all know about mental illness.
  • God wants us to trust Him,
  • 2 Timothy 3:2 - For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful unholy.......
  • We rely on Facebook, technology, etc. for news and life in general.
  • Therefore whoever humbles themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.  Matthew 18-3-5
  • How to deal with stress: Psalms 23 - The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow od death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: thou anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
  • We need to concentrate on Jesus.
  • Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
  • So get outside and smell the roses, take a ride and enjoy the world around you.
  • We fight against unavoidable situations.
  • Fret not with evil doers for they will soon be cut down.  Psalm 37:1-11
  • The Lord's ways are not our ways.  Isaiah 55:8-9
  • We must do our best while God does the rest.
  • Take stress off yourself by focusing on others. Help someone else.
  • Be aware of God's presence at all times.
  • Through faith, we know that God is near through Jesus.
  • God is omnipresent. Everywhere at all times.
