August 30, 2020

Greetings from Brown Chapel/Avant; Shiloh and Mt. Pleasant Baptist on this last Sunday in August!

Prayer: Rev. I. Pelton

Scripture: Philippians 2:5 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

Topic: Having a positive outlook in today's world

  • We want to be like Christ.
  • We must think positively even in this world of today.
  • When they go low, we go high.
  • Lord lift me up and let me stand. Lord plant by feet on higher ground.  Psalms 40:1-3
Three things to be positive in this world of today:
  • Philippians 4:8 - (1) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, things on these things. (2) We must look upon positive sights. Look unto the hills from which our help comes - Psalm 121:1-2; Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith - Hebrews 12:2 and  (3) We must perform good deeds - Colossians 3:23 - And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.
  • Faith without works is dead . James 2:14-26
  • We must continue to believe and assemble when possible.
