October 11, 2026, Homecoming & October 18, 2026

Welcome to Brown Chapel/Avant, Mt. Pleasant & Shiloh

Homecoming sermon comes from

Psalm 122:1-9 - 1 I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

2 Our feet are standing in your gates, Jerusalem.

3 Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together.

4 That is where the tribes go up— the tribes of the Lord— to praise the name of the Lord according to the statute given to Israel.

5 There stand the thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure.

7 May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.”

8 For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.”

9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your prosperity.

Prayer: Pastor Baggett

Scripture: Galatians 6:1-3;10 - Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.  Bear ye one another's burdens, an so fulfil the law of Christ.  For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.  (10) As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Subject: Never Get Tired of Doing the Right Thing

We need to correct one another with compassion.

We have all made mistakes and God has shown us compassion. Who are we to judge others.

We can help others to carry their burdens.

We must stand up for what is right & God will aid us to stand firm.  Going good is not a waste of time.

We must keep on sewing good seeds.
