Sermon
Philippians 2:12-15 - Dearest friends, you were so careful to follow my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away you must be even more careful to put into action God's saving work in your lives, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey Him and the power to do what pleases Him. In everything you do, stay away from complaining and arguing, so that no one can speak a word of blame against you. You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of crooked and perverse people. Let your lives shine brightly before them.
Subject: Keep On Working and Don't Complain"
Snippet of sermon
Work the work while it is day for no man can work when night comes. (John 9:4)
Men at Work means a purpose or goal in mind with a specific job to do
If you don't know where you're going, it doesn't matter how you get there
Be productive, make a difference, become part of the process
Man was created in the image of God.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:17
We must learn to "rest" in the completion of the task.
Work with a spirit of cooperation. Cooperate with the God of our salvation; be obedient
Work God's work with "energo" Greek for energy.
Work with a joyful spirit, a spirit of trust and cooperation
Don't do something for someone and then complain about it.
Don't do anything in God's name and then complain about it.
We should be lights of the world, salt of the earth.
Verse 18: And you should be happy about this and rejoice with me. (Paul)
